OKLAHOMA CITY — Maplebrook Fury forward Khyah Harper was named the WPSL Goal 5 Player of the Week after scoring three goals in two matches with her club earning points in both contests, the league announced Friday.

Harper scored two goals Saturday in Maplebrook's 4-0 win against Dakota Fusion. Twenty-four hours later, she scored Sunday's opening goal in the 26th minute goal during a 1-1 draw vs. Mankato United Soccer Club.

Only 16, Harper has already verbally committed to play at the University of Minnesota. For now, she is entering her junior year at Centennial High School in Circle Pines, Minnesota.

"Kyah is an explosive player that has aproven to have a natural nose for goal," Maplebrook Fury Director of Coaching Jean-Yves Viadrin said. "Being the youngest member on the team has not held her back from asserting herself on the field.

"There is an exciting future ahead for this one."
