OKLAHOMA CITY — Spokane SC Shadow center back Grace Hancock for her save in the 36th minute of Sunday's 3-1 win vs. ISC Gunners.

Yes, that was not a typo in the first paragraph. Hancock, a natural centerback, played 68 minutes as emergency goalkeeper as the Shadow kept pace in a cluttered Northwest Conference playoff race.

Hancock, a Washington State University graduate, allowed only one goal and made her best save in the 36th minute, diving to her left and snagging an ISC Gunners shot from outside the box.

Most impressively Hancock held onto the ball and didn't spill it back into play for a rebound shot.

Spokane SC Shadow remains six points back of first-place Seattle Sounders Women, though the Shadow has two matches in-hand. Sounders have the head-to-head tiebreaker, but both clubs still have to play PacNW, who sit between Sounders Women and the Shadow in the standings.
