BALTIMORE — 122 WPSL players have entered their names for draft eligibility in for the 2020 NWSL Draft in Baltimore on Thursday.

The entry pool features 66 WPSL clubs, another display of the quality and depth of competition the WPSL offers its member clubs and players throughout the country.

Thursday is shaping up to be a big day for the Seattle Sounders Women, who have a WPSL-high nine players entered in the draft. Sounders forward Morgan Weaver is projected to a potential top 15 selection.

Chicago Red Stars Reserves (six), Motor City FC (five), Elite Girls Academy (five) and Colorado Rapids Women (4) round out of the top five for WPSL clubs with the most player draft entries.

Both Uchenna Kanu, the 2019 WPSL Championship MVP, and, her teammate Briana Morris are both representing league champions Pensacola FC in the draft. Kanu played for Nigeria in the 2019 FIFA World Cup before returning for Pensacola's championship run, and Morris scored the winning goal in extra time in the 2019 championship match.

Motor City FC, the defending East Region champion, are likely to see two of its players selected in the first two rounds — defenders Courtney Petersen and Zoe Morse.
