BOISE, Idaho — Boise Cutthroats FC has joined the Women's Premier League as a 2020 expansion club, the league announced Wednesday.

The Cutthroats are Idaho's first WPSL club in the league's 23-year history, giving the league a record 35 states represented for the 2020 season.

Hector Palacios is the Cutthroats owner, and Terry Adams is the Director of Administration and Operations. Palacios initially founded the Cutthroats as a UPSL men's club in 2017.

"We believe that this step is a necessary step to advance women’s soccer in Idaho, the Pacific Northwest and throughout the United States," Adams said. "It is the next logical progression for us since the start of the Boise Cutthroats FC in 2017."

The Cutthroats will play their home matches at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho. It is a member of the Mountain Conference - Wasatch Division, featuring Utah Royals FC Reserves, Utah Arrows SC and the Utah Red Devils.
