OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma - Last week, Orlando Pride signed two former WPSL players ahead of the NWSL Fall Series which began September 5th.

Brittany Wilson, Goalkeeper from Colorado Rapids Women, joined the Pride organization during preseason earlier this year. Chelsee Washington, Midfielder from FC Dallas, was drafted No. 30 overall  in the 2020 NWSL College Draft by the Pride.

Wilson played in eight matches for Rapids Women during the 2019 WPSL season, helping her club finish second overall in the Mountain Conference of the Central Region with an 8-2-0 record. Wilson was described as a role model for the club’s younger players and a leader within the senior team by her coaches.

"Brittany has long possessed a professional mentality as an athlete, and specifically as a goalkeeper - so it is no surprise that she has earned the opportunity to sign with Orlando Pride”, Jeff Oleck, Rapids Youth Soccer Associate Director of Goalkeeping said. “Pride have landed a fantastic person and goalkeeper; we have no doubt that she will continue to rise within the NWSL.”

Washington played in 14 matches with FC Dallas during the 2018 and 2019 WPSL seasons and made All-Conference for the 2019 season. During her senior season with Bowling Green State University, Washington earned the 2019 MAC Offensive Player of the Year award and ended her college career with 21 goals and 23 assists in 85 appearances.

Prior to the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup this summer, Wilson and Washington signed short-term contracts, however, due to COVID-19 complications Orlando had to withdraw from the tournament. This new long-term contract for the duo is good through the 2021 season with an option for 2022.

With the 2020 NWSL Fall Series currently underway, the Pride’s first match will be on the road against North Carolina Courage on September 19.
