2018 East Region fixtures announced

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Women's Premier Soccer League, the largest women's soccer league in the world, officially revealed its 2018 fixtures for East Region on Tuesday.

 

The East features the addition of nine club from the Ohio Valley Conference, which moved to from the Central region for the 2018 season.

 

"With the Ohio Valley Conference moving into the East, it brings new, strong competition into the region," said Jessica Mendez, Associate Commissioner – East Region.

 

The East's season begins May 12th with two Ohio Valley matches. Empire Revs host Cleveland Ambassadors in West Henrietta, New York (Greater Rochester), and AAFC Lumberjills make their WPSL debut with a road match at Columbus Eagles FC.

 

Also on May 12, the Colonial Conference opens play with a Hampton Roads derby between Legacy W76 and Virginia Beach City FC in Williamsburg, Virginia.

 

The Metropolitan and Mid-Atlantic Conferences begin play on May 19.

 

"We are excited for a few shakeups with a few teams moving to different conferences," Mendez said. "This will be an exciting season in the East."
