INDIANAPOLIS – FC Pride forward April Bockin was named to the United States U-23 Women's National Team squad for its three matches scheduled between March 11-17.

Bockin played with FC Pride during the 2017 WPSL season. She was named Third-Team All-Big 10 last fall after starting in all 19 matches during her junior year at the University of Minnesota.

The Eden Prairie, Minnesota native scored four goals last season for the Golden Gophers.

"The players and staff at FC Pride are all very happy for April," FC Pride coach Jamie Gilbert said. "April's dedication, work rate and desire were all evident throughout her time with us."

Bockin's USWNT U-23 squad will play three matches vs. National Women's Soccer League opponents during six days in Portland, Oregon. The team lost 2-1 to the Houston Dash on Sunday. It is scheduled to play the Portland Thorns on Wednesday and the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday.

"The one characteristic that stands out to me in regards to April is how unselfish she is," Gilbert said. "Her pace enables her to get into very dangerous areas on the pitch, and she is always looking to bring her teammates into play.

"April is great with the younger players at our club and is a very good role model for the players on the youth teams.’"
