After a few weeks of increasingly substantial appetizers in the WPSL’s West Region, we’re finally on to the main course. On the heels of a handful of midweek matches, there is a jam-packed schedule of matches for the weekend:

FRIDAY

San Diego Parceiro Ladies vs. FC Tucson Women, 5:30 p.m. PDT

After LA Galaxy San Diego picked up four points in a pair of midweek matches, San Diego Parceiro Ladies have fallen to second in the Pac South Conference. A win here would push San Diego back into first place. Tucson, meanwhile, is looking for its first win on the young season; a win would carry them from last place in the division to tied for second.

MVLA Wolves vs. San Francisco Nighthawks, 7:30 p.m. PDT

The Wolves and Nighthawks are already nine points off of the Pac North - Bay Area leaders, but it’s through no fault of their own. Both clubs have yet to play a match in the 2018 season. If there’s a winner, they would close the gap on top-of-the-table Fresno FC Ladies to six points. The Nighthawks and Wolves placed third and fourth in the division a year ago and will be looking to kick on and challenge Fresno and the California Storm for the conference title.

SATURDAY

San Diego Parceiro Ladies vs. Phoenix Del Sol, 9 a.m. PDT

San Diego has an opportunity at a six-point weekend if they can get past Tucson on Friday nigh but they but they will have to survive Phoenix Del Sol less than 16 hours later. A win from Phoenix Del Sol would keep the Pac South Conference table tightly bunched.

Las Vegas Q11 vs. Utah Arrows SC, 5 p.m. MDT

It’s been a quiet few weeks for the Pac North - Mountain, but the Conference gets cranked back up again this weekend starting with a match between Las Vegas Q11 and Utah Arrows SC. Both sides lost their first matches and will be hungry to get their first wins of the 2018 season.

FRAM Ajax vs. So Cal Union FC, 5 p.m. PDT

Four clubs in the Coastal Conference are still waiting to play their first matches of the 2018 season, and FRAM Ajax and So Cal Union FC are two of them. Their campaigns begin on Saturday at Silverlakes Sports Complex in Corona, California.

San Diego SeaLions vs. FC Tucson Women, 5:30 p.m. PDT

After running away with the Pac South Conference a year ago, the SeaLions have dropped five-of-six possible points to start 2018. They’ll have a chance to make up some ground this weekend, playing the first of two matches on Saturday evening against FC Tucson Women, who will have played the night before. However, with a pair of Tucson victories, it could elevate to the top of the table.

PacNW-OSA FC vs. THUSC Diamonds, 6 p.m. PDT

THUSC dropped both matches of its weekend doubleheader a week ago and will be looking to get into the win column against PacNW-OSA FC, which is making its 2018 WPSL debut.

Primero de Mayo vs. California Storm, 7 p.m. PDT

Primero de Mayo and California Storm face off for the second week in a row, with the Storm taking the first meeting 3-1. Unlike last week, this one is a home game for the Storm, who are looking to make up ground on Pac North - Bay Area leaders Fresno FC Ladies.

LA Premier FC vs. SoCal FC, 7 p.m. PDT

SUNDAY

Las Vegas Q11 vs. Utah Red Devils, Noon MDT

San Ramon FC vs. MVLA Wolves, Noon PDT

San Ramon FC opened its 2018 season on Thursday night with a 3-1 win over Marin Alliance FC. They look to make it six points in three days on Sunday with a trip to MVLA Wolves, who kick off their 2018 season on Friday against the San Francisco Nighthawks.
