Des Moines Menace is still looking for its first win of the WPSL season. A trip to Northeast High School to face the KC Courage could be positive for Des Moines. The Courage have only drew a match this WPSL season, losing the other two matches. The two sides will face off at 4 p.m. CDT.
One hour later, two matches will take place. In the North Conference, the Minnesota TwinStars will look to break the Chicago Red Stars Reserves undefeated streak at Minnetonka High School Stadium. While the Red Stars on top of their group, Minnesota sits in fourth place. In the Southwest Conference, Oklahoma City FC will host the Texas Spurs FC at Norman North High School. Both teams are in the middle of their conference, with the Spurs FC in third place and Oklahoma City FC in fourth.
Another team looking to earn its first win is the Dakota Fusion FC, who will travel to Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin to face the Milwaukee Torrent. Dakota has featured in five WPSL matches this season, dropping all five contests. However, Milwaukee is only one spot above Dakota in the North Conference with one draw and two losses. The two sides will take the field at 6 p.m. CDT.
Finishing off the night at 7 p.m. are the Kansas City Athletics against Fire & Ice SC, TTI: Bluebonnets against Lonestar SC and Chicago City SC against Fire SC 98. The Kansas City Athletics and Lonestar SC are currently undefeated this season.
Sunday, June 17
After a midweek scoreless draw against Fire & Ice SC, St. Louis Lions return home to the Tony Glavin Soccer Complex. On Father’s Day the Lions will host the Kansas City Athletics at 2 p.m. CDT. At the same time, Fortuna Tulsa will host Texas Spurs FC at the University of Tulsa. Fortuna Tulsa won its mid-week friendly match 3-0 against Lady Demize.
At 3 p.m. CDT, Chicago City SC will travel to Minnetonka High School Stadium to face Minnesota TwinStars. The match is the second-straight home match for Minnesota. One hour later Chicago Red Stars face Fire SC 98 at Seafoam Stadium at Concordia University.
The weekend’s action finishes with two matches at 6 p.m. FC Dallas will host Little Rock Rangers at Dr. Pink Stadium while Texas Titans host Lonestar SC. The match will be Lonestar’s first road match of the season and first of four away matches.
