Fire SC 98 3, Chicago City SC 0

A return home for Fire SC 98 after two away matches proved successful.

After matches at Chicago City SC and the Milwaukee Torrent, Fire SC 98 welcomed Chicago City SC to Seafoam Stadium at Concordia University. The home side claimed victory, 3-0.

It took Emily Heslin only nine minutes into the match to provide the first goal. Hanna Norman, a defender from North Dakota State University, provided the assist on a corner kick. The shutout continued in the first half with Norman’s college teammate, Roxy Roemer, scoring on a corner kick. Roemer was the taker of the corner kick, curling it past the Chicago City SC goalkeeper.

After the half, Fire SC 98 rolled its offense out with a spark.

Taylor Bare, a University of Missouri, Kansas City graduate, scored the game-winning goal. Annie Williams, a defender, set up the play by taking a free kick and finding Bare’s head.

The next day wasn’t quite as lucky for Fire SC 98. On Father’s Day at home, Fire SC 98 fell to the Chicago Red Stars Reserves 4-0.

Fortuna Tulsa 6, Little Rock Rangers 0

Fortuna Tulsa should break out the black uniforms more often.

With a new look in tow, the Oklahoma-based club scored six goals against the Little Rock Rangers on Friday night. Earning her second goal in the past two matches, Renee Wilson found the opening goal for Fortuna Tulsa in the 18th minute. Jordan Langebartels, a sophomore for the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, finished off the first half scoring with her 27th minute goal.

In the second half, Tara Smith, Sierra Schwarz, Tatum Wagner and Langebartels each scored goals to finish the match 6-0.

Fortuna Tulsa had little time to celebrate. The team geared up for the second-straight home match against the Texas Spurs FC. Michael Wilson’s squad finished with another victory, earning a 3-1 win. The victory was the club’s fourth in a row.

Parker Goins, Rachel Carroll and Yolanda Thomas each scored a goal in the victory. Meanwhile, Kelsey Sheldon scored the Spurs FC’s lone tally.

Milwaukee Torrent 6, Dakota Fusion FC 0

A hat trick from Robyn Elliott led the Milwaukee Torrent to its first conference win against Dakota Fusion FC on Saturday.

At Hart Park in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, Elliott, a midfielder going into her junior year at the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, scored goals in the 28th minute, 45th minute and 82nd minute. Joining Elliott on the scoresheet were teammates Leah Celarek, Haley Johnson and Aubrey Krahn.

Milwaukee tied Fire SC 98 twice and fell to the Chicago Red Stars Reserves before picking up its first North Conference victory. Meanwhile, the Dakota Fusion FC are still looking for its first point this season.

The chance for revenge will come quickly for Dakota. The two sides will meet up again — this time at Jim Gotta Stadium at Moorhead High School — on Friday for a rematch. The meet up begins a four-game home stand for the Fusion FC.
