The final week of the South Region is finally here! Three conferences have yet to crown a champion, and seven clubs remain in the hunt for playoffs!

CAROLINAS CONFERENCE MATCH OF THE WEEK: ASHEVILLE CITY SC vs OAK CITY UNITED

While the Carolina Rapids have the Carolinas Conference lead at the moment, they’ve played all 10 conference matches. Asheville City SC sits in second place, two points behind but with one match left to play. If Asheville beats Oak City United on the road on Saturday, it is the champions. If the match ends in a draw or an Oak City win, Carolina Rapids win the title. Asheville last played Oak City United back in Week 7, winning 4-1 at home, and it remains the only undefeated club in the conference.

SUNSHINE CONFERENCE MATCHES OF THE WEEK: TAMPA BAY UNITED vs PUERTO RICO PRIDE FC & FLORIDA GULF COAST DUTCH LIONS vs FC SURGE

The Sunshine Conference is still an incredibly close race. Three clubs enter Week 9 vying for the conference title: Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions; the current leaders; FC Surge; and Tampa Bay United. This gets a bit complicated with the possible permutations. If Tampa Bay United beats Puerto Rico Pride FC, it finishes with 16 points. Tampa then needs FC Surge to draw with Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions, leaving FC Surge on 14 points and the Dutch Lions on 16. Tampa Bay defeated the Dutch Lions back in Week 4, so it holds the first tiebreaker. If FC Surge and Tampa Bay both win, the title goes down to the second tiebreaker of goal differential, which FC Surge currently leads 11 to 4, and FC Surge win the conference. However, if Florida Gulf Coast Dutch Lions win, they’re the conference champions with 18 points, and Tampa Bay can’t catch them. Both of these matches have massive implications, and this conference could end up decided by the second tiebreaker.

SOUTHEAST CONFERENCE MATCH OF THE WEEK: NASHVILLE RHYTHM vs PEACHTREE CITY MOBA

Peachtree City MOBA hosts Nashville Rhythm in the Southeast Conference finale, and while Chattanooga already has the title secured, the final standings won’t be decided until this match is finished. If Nashville wins, it takes the second spot in the conference with 13 points, while if Peachtree City wins, it finishes third and bumps Nashville down to fourth.

GULF CONFERENCE MATCHES OF THE WEEK: BATON ROUGE UNITED vs ALABAMA FC & RANGERS LADIES FC vs PENSACOLA FC

The Gulf Conference still has two clubs fighting for the top spot, and both play on the final day of the season. For Baton Rouge to win the conference, it needs to defeat Alabama FC and have Pensacola FC lose or draw. Baton Rouge would then finish with 19 points ahead of Pensacola with 16 or 17. However, if Pensacola FC defeats Rangers Ladies FC, Pensacola wins the conference on tiebreakers, for it won 4-2 over Baton Rouge United in Week 8. Should both Pensacola and Baton Rouge lose or draw, Pensacola still wins on the head-to-head tiebreaker.
